Design taste is just reps
People tell me I have “an eye” for design. What I actually have is a decade of making ugly things and slowly noticing why they were ugly.
Taste is a muscle
Taste feels innate because you only see the finished work, never the hundreds of discarded versions behind it. The gap between your taste and your skill is the work — and it closes with reps.
